Lily Hobson was born in Leeds in 1877 and baptised on 28 October 1877 at All Saints Church, Leeds, her parents were George and Eliza Hobson. George was a Grocer at this time, he later became a Publican. In 1881 the family lived on South Accommodation Road, Leeds.
Lily married a Mr Brook but no marriage certificate can be found. It is possible they married in Canada as she sailed to Quebec. Passenger Lists shows she departed from Liverpool, arriving in Quebec on 11 November 1910. Lily Hobson was 32 at the time, but some of the information is illegible on the Passenger Lists.
The family are found on most Census’. On the 1911 Census it says George and Eliza Hobson had been married 44 years, there were 8 children born in this marriage, 5 are still living.
