Ann Abbott was born in Rickall near Selby in 1816.  Her parents were William, a shoemaker and Sarah.  

She married George Shearer, shoemaker in 1848 (see Marriage Certificate below).  Ann was a Draper and they lived at 19 North Street, Leeds.  No children have been found for Ann and George.  George died in 1871 and is buried in common grave number 6001.   

Ann died on 20 April 1880.  In her Will Ann left under £1,500 to one of her next of kin, her cousin William (this is not the same William as in her grave) (see her Will below).  Her husband had predeceased her.  

In same grave is Mary Ann and Robert Gardam (see Marriage Certificate below).  They married in 1860.  Cannot find connection between these people and Ann Shearer.

Also in grave is William Abbott, a blacksmith, this is brother of Ann Shearer.  He had married Sarah Ann Carter, who died before him and is in a common grave (see Marriage Certificate below).
