Notes:

Margaret McGregor was killed by a motor car on 28 March 1916, age 8.  Yorkshire Evening Post reported accident occurred shortly before noon, when children ran out of Tramway Street into Chapeltown Road, Leeds.  


Her parents were Alexander and Bessie McGregor (nee Aiston/Hastings).  Margaret was baptised on 7 February 1907 at St John the Evangelist, the family lived at 19A Leighton Lane, Leeds.  Her father Alexander was a Tailor in 1900, a Hawker in 1901 and was in Royal Air Force in 1916, service no. 44170, age 44, born 1882.


On the 1911 Census they were living at 11 Wilmonton Terrace, Leeds.  Her mother was a Charwoman, born in Northumberland.  Seven children had been born but only two were still living,  Beatrice, age 5 and Margaret age 4, both born Leeds.  Margaret Arbuckle was boarding, aged 23, single, a Picture Framer.  Alexander was not at home at the time.


Bessie (Margaret's mother) was born in 1879, died in 1925, aged 45, living at 4 Camp Street, a widow, so Alexander was already dead.  She was buried in a Common Grave, number 21852. There is no headstone

Kate McGregor, baptised 3 October 1900 at St Matthews, Leeds of Primrose Street, father a Tailor.  Died 10 August 1901, 10 months, grave 9474, no headstone, of Hampshire Court, on General Register Office records mother's maiden name shown as Aiston – buried on same day as Alexander and James.


Alexander McGregor, died 10 August 1901, one day old, he was the son of Alexander W McGregor, grave number 9474, of Hampshire Court, on General Register Office records mother's maiden name shown as Hastings – buried on same day as Kate and James – probably a twin of James.


James McGregor, died 1901, 1 day old, grave number 9474, on General Register Office records mother's maiden name shown as Hastings - died on same day as Kate and Alexander – probably a twin of Alexander.


Beatrice McGregor, born 2 August 1905, baptised 15 August 1905 at St John the Evangelist, Leeds, daughter of Alexander and Bessie McGregor of 19A Leighton Lane, a Hawker, on General Register Office records mother's maiden name shown as Aiston.   In 1939 living at 4 Artillery Place, Leeds, single, a Trouser Machinist.
