Lowena Catherine Humphreys was born in 1854 in Flintshire. Her parents were William Humphreys, a Farm Bailiff, and Elizabeth Dodd and they lived in Wigfair, Denbighshire, Wales.
They had seven children. She married James Henry Harrison, grocer (born 1853 Lancaster) in 1878 in Leeds. Five children can be found from this marriage, two of which are buried here with their parents: Lowena Ethel (died 1892, age 3 years 8 months) and William (died 1957 age 74 years). Fred was killed in action in 1917, at 22 years and buried elsewhere, so is ‘remembered’ here.
They lived at 35 Regent Street and probably had a shop there. They also lived at 35 Gower Street, 12 Industrial Terrace and 38 Hillburn St, Bramley, Leeds.
Lowena Catherine died 7 November1897 (called Catherine on all census'), at number 35 Gower Street, Leeds. James Henry Harrison, died 1 April 1916, at 12 Industrial Terrace, Leeds.
Also in this plot is Lowena's sister Mary Ellen Cook, died 15 February 1929, widow, of 35 Nowell Grove, Leeds.
