Emily was born Emily Pickard on 27 September 1864 to parents John Pickard and Ann Terry, both buried in Beckett Street Grave 26753. Emily had 4 daughters including Gladys who died age 2 and is buried with John and Ann. Her husband George 1860-1900 died of tuberculosis in Leeds Infirmary. One of her other daughters Ethel, my maternal grandmother died age 39 also of tuberculosis. Emily looked after my mother, at times, after Ethel died. The family lived in Darfield Street in Harehills. Emily and George also had 2 sons. Harold died in WW1 after his field hospital where he worked as an orderly was bombed with no survivors. His brother Jack emigrated to Canada.
