Horace Reginald Sturdy Born 1886 Leeds Died Nov 1962 Leeds . Buried in plot 5266. Horace was the second born child of Horace and Annie Sturdy . He lived at 22 Badminton Terrace Leeds, then 7 Elford Terrace Harehills Leeds. He started working life as a Greengrocers assistant and served in the army during the First World War. After the war he was an Insurance agent. He married Alma Holmes ( a fish salesmans daughter ) at St Aidens Church Harehills. Horace ( or Reg as he was always referred to as ) then became Landlord of The Bulls Head, then The Brown Cow at Horsforth. Reg was 41 when he married 28 year old Alma. They didnt have children and the marriage ended in divorce, an unusual event in those days. He was a rather mysterious character in later life and would disappear for long periods. Poor Reg as the family referred to him as, returned to the family home at Elford Terrace where he died aged 76, nursed by his elder sister Eva.
