Elijah was from Chesterfield and worked as a miner in Sheffield. The census of 1891 suggests he was now living in Leeds with his wife Ann and 9 children. In later life he worked as a porter on the railways at Marsh Lane station. Elijah is buried in a Common Grave 7537. This picture was sent to us by Doreen Bradley, and shows Elijah pushing a barrow. We don`t know if the child in the barrow is one of his children
