He was killed in action, in the Second Battle of Ypres. Laid to rest W. 19. Potijze Burial Ground Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.

Pre-war, living at 98 St Peters Place, Leeds and worked as a Lodging-house keeper. He married Mary Fenton on June 19th 1897 at St Peter's Church, Leeds.
Researcher believes that Thomas Allman changed his name or the records change him to S Allman, as his wife is still in the 1911 census married to an S Allman.
