This photo is of Louis John Fischer, his wife Mary and their 3 sons. Louis came from Germany when he was about 18 in 1875, eventually ending up living in York Road. Louis was a Pork Butcher. There were 5 girls too who worked in the family business. Louis died in 1901 aged 44 and is buried in plot 7760, a Guinea Grave. The photo was kindly sent by Edward Thornton in Lancashire. One of the boys in the photo is his Grandfather.
